God is Grace – Full

Definition of Grace

TAKE TIME TO PRAY BEFORE YOU BEGIN…

Think about God’s grace and how deep and wide it is! God is grace-full! His grace is completely abundant and completely undeserved. It is a gift which we can never repay… but one that we can seek to honor as we are changed by Him from the inside out.

WRITE

There are so many many verses that speak of God’s grace.
Here are a few you can use to help see the picture of God’s grace
& I challenge you to seek some more.

Genesis 6-9  Ephesians 2:8   John 1:14-18  Romans 3:23-24
Romans 6:14   1 Peter 5:10   Revelation 2:21

  • Write about what God’s grace means to you. He has given you the gift of salvation and from his fullness he has given you “grace upon grace” (John 1:16).
  • Do these passages open up your understanding of God’s grace? Write down some of the words that really spoke to you.
  • His grace fills the entire Bible from the beginning to the end. It really is too much to comprehend. But it is truth! It is His free gift to you! Awesome! Take time to praise Him Now!

GROW

I love this song from Mercy Me. It really reminds me how much He loves me – and that His grace is always enough!

Pray now that His grace would abound in your life. That you would come to a full understanding of the completeness of His grace. And that you would live your as the new creation that you are – transformed for eternity! Alleluia! Praying for you

Job 38

where were you

Pink dots write

There is so very much in the book of Job, and today we are not going to get into the layers and purposes of this important story. But, we are going to listen as God speaks to Job in response to Job’s “fault-finding” (Job 40:2).

  • In His power God responds from a whirlwind. What an awesome vision. As you read through chapter 38 envision each picture that God gives us that reveal who he is. Write down some of His statements that bring new understanding to God as creator.
  • As we here on Earth come to greater and greater understanding of the physical world, many put themselves in the place of God. But what evidence does He give of His great power & wisdom?
  • God’s plan of and for creation is so much greater than we can see with our eyes or understand with our limited intellect. Read Job 42:1-6. What is Job’s response when he realizes his own place in God’s creation?
  • Do you question why, how, when, what-if, if-only?He has a perfect plan and he knows. WE DO NOT KNOW the purposes, layers, wisdom, knowledge of God. Lay your questions at the feet of God, write them down, confess & trust God!

Psalm 16

“The Lord is my chosen portion and my cup;
you hold my lot.”
Psalm16:5 ESV

“The Lord is the portion of my inheritance, my cup [He is all I need];
You support my lot.”
Psalm 16:5 AMP

“Lord, you alone are my inheritance, my cup of blessing.
You guard all that is mine.”
Psalm 16:5 NLT

The end of Psalm 16 is quoted by both Peter (Acts 2) and Paul (Acts 13) pointing us to the identity of Jesus – that “‘You will not let your Holy One see corruption.” (Acts 13:35) This points to the truth that Jesus would indeed be resurrected and reign forever. Praise God! Still, the entire Psalm reveals to us where our hearts should be and encourages us to look forward to eternal life with our Lord in heaven! What joy!

  • Looking to verse 1 what is the Psalmist’s (probably David) first request?
  • His refuge is the Lord – Ask the Lord to be your refuge! And trust God for His protection whatever may be swirling in your life.
  • In verse 5 the Psalmist makes a choice. He doesn’t choose to rely on the things of this world to fulfill him. Instead what choice does he make?
  • God is all you need! No matter all of the “if only’s” you have in your life. Write down some of them. Then cross them off and write – God is all I need!
  • Write down verse 8! Memorize it! Live like it! What difference does it make if the Lord is what you choose to pursue?
  • What is the result when we make this choice (see verses 9-11)?
  • What is your choice?!

Though our bodies will see decay (if we die before Jesus returns)- when we trust in Jesus and put our lives in the hands of the Lord we too can look forward to eternity in heaven with our Almighty God! Alleluia!

Psalm 16:2

We are going to dig into the entire Psalm tomorrow.
But, today we are just going to meditate on verse 2 of Psalm 16.

Take time not to lift this up to our Almighty!

I say to the Lord, ‘You are my Lord;
I have no good apart from you.’

  • The word good can be an adjective, a  noun and an adverb. It both describes a thing, an action and it stands alone – as good.
    • adj. : something desired or approved
    • n: that which is morally right
    • adv.: completely
  • Despite what the world my tell you, good is God alone! What does it mean to you that there is no good thing or action apart from God?
  • He is amazingly good! All good! All of the time! Sometimes it is hard to see, but trust and cling to His goodness! You are so loved! Pray and ask Him to reveal this to you in this day!

  • Peter has just confessed that He believes Jesus is the Christ (Mark 8:29). Yet, he still rebukes Jesus. What is Jesus’ response?
  • What was Peter’s mistake in thinking?
  • Instead, Jesus gives us exactly how we need to think and live our lives…Make a TO DO list using His commands written here.
  • How do we know that Jesus’ call to action is not only for the disciples (see the beginning of verse 34)?
  • Jesus gives you 3 warnings – what are they?
  • How does this effect the way you look at life and what changes do you need to make today to follow Christ as He calls us?
