1 Peter 4:10-11

“As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another”
1 Peter 4:10a

  • Have you ever considered your God given gifts – spiritual or physical? The amplified Bible defines them as “a particular spiritual talent, a gracious divine endowment.” Read Romans 12:3-6
  • Pray and ask God to help reveal what your gifts are. What has God shared with you…write it down.
  • What does 1 Peter 4:10 tell you about how you are to use your gifts?
  • What does it mean to be a faithful steward?
  • Verse 11 instructs us not to use our own power, but God’s. What is the purpose in using God’s strength?
  • Go to the Lord…what is God calling you to do today with the gifts that He has given you?

Rest

“So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God,
for whoever has entered God’s rest has also rested from his works as God did from his.
Let us therefore strive to enter that rest,so that no one may fall by the same sort of disobedience.”
Hebrews 4:9-11 ESV

“Therefore God has highly exalted him {Jesus} and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,  and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
Philippians 2:9-11

“There will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents
than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.”
Luke 15:7

  • Do you feel lost? Is there a piece of your heart/mind/body that you are not giving to God? Are you involved in a habitual sin (gossip, hatred, coveting, unforgiveness)? Are you avoiding God’s call? Pray about it…What is standing between your heart and a relationship with the Living God?
  • God sent Jesus to build a bridge between you and God…Jesus is searching for you in your lostness right now. He is reaching out to you…turn away from your sin and turn to Christ, “in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.” (Colossians 1:14). Pray and write about how you are going to take action today.
  • REMEMBER – YOU ARE NOT ALONE! Romans 8:10-11 reminds us that if you know Christ you  “the Spirit of Him who raised Christ from the dead is living in you.”
  • So, how is this a gift to God…seems like He’s doing all the work. But, it brings God joy to see our heartfelt repentance. Re-write Luke 15:7 replacing “one sinner” with your name!

background8write

“Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.”
Hebrews 13:16

  • Write a definition or some synonyms of the word neglect.
  • Do you ever leave good “undone” or get careless about it? Read Galatians 6:1-10 & make a list of some of the ways we can do good.
  • It is sometimes hard to discern, but God does not leave us alone to figure it out.

” Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind,
that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”
Romans 12:2

  • Ask God to renew your mind and transform you so that you can discern what He has planned for you in this day…write down anything that He brings to mind.
  • One of the ways we can do this is by sharing what we have. Make a list of he qualities, spiritual and material gifts,  etc.  that you possess which you can share and how you can share them.
  • It can be the smallest thing a smile a phone call or a note. Set out in this day to be obedient to what God has called you to. It is a gift to Him!
