Joyful in Hope

- What does it mean to put your hope in the Lord (Romans 5:1-5)?
- Paul shares with you the attitude you should carry as you put your hope in the Lord. Describe the attitude and action you should take.
- The gift of the Spirit is joy, but you must put your hope in Him and not earthly things or accomplishments. Is there anything you need to change in your perspective to make room for the hope and joy that comes only from Christ?

- What attitude are we to have as we worship the Lord?
- Who is to join in the feast?
- This gives us a picture of joyful worship as part of a community. When we bring our gifts with a grateful heart what are we promised?
- Verses 16 & 17 instruct us on how to appear before The Lord. What does it tell us?
- We need to remember that Joyful giving can include more than just monetary blessings. What gifts has God given you that you can share with joy today?

This passage is so deep and rich. I encourage you to seek past just my simple questions and really immerse yourself in these words of truth.
- According to this passage, where does love come from?
- Because God first loved us, what must we do?
- If we live in God then He ____________. “Because he has _________his_________ v. 13.
- This gift enables us to testify. What is our testimony?
- God’s Spirit enables us to rely on His love. How is God’s love made complete in us and what is the confidence we have in this?
- Ultimately we love because ____________. v.19
- Paraphrase v. 19 & v.20, but write it from a first person perspective.

Love is…

1 Corinthians 13:4-7
- Paul tells us what pure love looks like. Read his description in several different translations. Using Paul’s characteristics, write out a list of what your Love should look like.
- What characteristic really stands out to you?
- Ok-how many weddings have you been to and heard this passage (mine included)? But it applies to more than just your husband or wife. It is how we are to love everyone. Does that change your perspective on love your neighbor?
- Ask the Spirit to work in your heart to grow the fruit of love!

Love Each Other…
Ask the Spirit to guide you as you read God’s word for today.
John 17:12-17
- Think of how Jesus showed his love in His life and especially in His death. John 15:12 tells us how we are to love. Write it down. Meditate on it. Write about it.
- John 17:16 reveals the calling and purpose of every Christian. Write about how that is revealed or should be revealed in your life.
- Jesus closes with a simple command. Write it down! Circle it! underline it! Live it!
