Power-Full

Psalm 63-35

TAKE TIME TO PRAY BEFORE YOU BEGIN…

It is really impossible to comprehend God’s power! But we are told that we can see it simply by looking at His creation (Romans 1:20). He maintains all power – as He is sovereign over every grain of sand, every drop of rain, every hair on your head and every event in your life. Power is both a thing and an action. We can can have power or power can propel us forward. After looking up the word in the dictionary power reveals itself in three different forms – Control   Strength   Energy. Isn’t that at little glimpse of God – Control…Strength…Energy?

WRITE

Here are just a few verses that speak of God’s power.
Really I think I could  suggest to see God’s power read Genesis 1 – Revelation 22.

Genesis 1   Romans 1:20   1 Corinthians 2:4-5
2 Corinthians 4:7   Colossians 2:12   Micah 3:8 Hebrews 1:1-3   Luke 9:37-42

  • His power is all encompassing. Pick a favorite verse about God’s power and write about how and why it impacted you.
  • Take comfort in knowing that He who is in us is greater than he who is in the world. Where in your life do you need to claim His power.
  • When you come to know Jesus the Spirit of the living God dwells in you. It is this power that equips and enables us to overcome (Colossians 2:12). Write down – the Power of God dwells in me and I claim His power over______.

GROW

We are merely human – imperfect and powerless. Yet… His Spirit in us – now that it power. This is a beautiful song about exactly that. Jeremy Camp – Same Power.

My His power enable, equip and guide you as you trust in Him!  Praying for you…

be blessing and honor and glory and might forever and ever!’”

  • Who is pictured here worshiping God and the Lamb (see also Romans 8:19)?
  • What strikes you about this kind of woship and who is seeking the Lord?
  • This includes you!  You are part of God’s creation…write the words of praise spoken in this passage in Revelation.

One thing have I asked of the Lord,
    that will I seek after:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
all the days of my life.”

Psalm 27:4

  • What is the one thing David has asked of the Lord?
  • Here David tell us not just that he has asked to dwell in the house of the Lord, but He also writes of his own action. What action did David highlight?
  • This is relationship. David seeks God and God provides him respite in the midst of trouble. How does David show his gratitude to God (end of verse 6)?
  • Do you seek the Almighty? Do you make sacrifices for him and to him (Romans 12:1)? Do you ever sing His praises (in our mind or with your voice)?
  • God love you!!!! He wants a relationship with you! What can you do today to seek after him?

Romans 8:26-27

Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.  And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.
Romans 8:26-27

  • Reread verse 27 what does this reveal about allowing the Spirit to guide our prayer time?
  • I often fill my prayer time with my request but what does this passage show you about being quiet before God?
  • This passage also shows us how well the Spirit knows our heart and how we can grow according to God’s will when we lay our heart before Him.
  • Sit and be quiet before God…what is He speaking into your heart today?

His Spirit is in you interceding before the Father. Seek Him…and be quiet before God!  I will be praying for you!

Rejoice always,  pray continually,  give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
1Thessalonians 5:16-18 NIV 1984

  • What words stand out to you in this passage?
  • Again, we see completeness…what does it men to you to be continually in prayer?
  • Working backwards, paraphrase God’s word from this passage.
  • It is God’s will…though it’s hard to imagine giving thanks in all circumstances, he works all things together for our good (Romans 8:28). Is there a difficult situation you need to thank God for? Lift it up to Him now.
  • We are told His joy is our strength (Nehemiah 8:10), which is very different than worldly happiness, but much more fulfilling. Ask the Lord to fill you with His joy so you may remain strong in HIM!

Always! Continually! All circumstances! It is God’s will!!!!  I will be praying for you!

  • Here he also explains what we should be anxious about. Write it down.
  • Do you see a completeness in those words?
  • when we offer up our fears to God what results?
  • We do not understand His peace, but we can be certain that it will guard what?
  • So, here I ask you…what do you choose…Your own fear and anxiety or God’s peace.?

Hebrews 12:1-3

pink rect stitch write

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.  Think of all the hostility he endured from sinful people; then you won’t become weary and give up.
Hebrews 12:1-3

  • We are called to run the race of life with our eyes fixed. Where should our eyes be?
  • In order to assure that we can moe forward, it is necessary that we take action. What does verse instruct us to do?
  • Jesus is our example, the founder and perfecter fo our faith. What does this reveal about our faith?
  • This passage points out the reason Jesus endured the cross-what is it?
  • Write about the Joy set before Christ?
  • Like Christ, each of us is called to carry our cross (Luke 14:21). But, do not grow weary…you, too, have a beautiful joy set before you. Write about what you are looking forward to.
