“So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God,
for whoever has entered God’s rest has also rested from his works as God did from his.
Let us therefore strive to enter that rest,so that no one may fall by the same sort of disobedience.”
Hebrews 4:9-11 ESV

Psalm 27:4-6
“One thing have I asked of the Lord,
that will I seek after:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
all the days of my life.”
Psalm 27:4
- What is the one thing David has asked of the Lord?
- Here David tell us not just that he has asked to dwell in the house of the Lord, but He also writes of his own action. What action did David highlight?
- This is relationship. David seeks God and God provides him respite in the midst of trouble. How does David show his gratitude to God (end of verse 6)?
- Do you seek the Almighty? Do you make sacrifices for him and to him (Romans 12:1)? Do you ever sing His praises (in our mind or with your voice)?
- God love you!!!! He wants a relationship with you! What can you do today to seek after him?
Seek and you will find… I will be praying for you!

Romans 8:26-27
“Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God. “
Romans 8:26-27
- Reread verse 27 what does this reveal about allowing the Spirit to guide our prayer time?
- I often fill my prayer time with my request but what does this passage show you about being quiet before God?
- This passage also shows us how well the Spirit knows our heart and how we can grow according to God’s will when we lay our heart before Him.
- Sit and be quiet before God…what is He speaking into your heart today?

1Thessalonians 5:16-18
“ Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
1Thessalonians 5:16-18 NIV 1984
- What words stand out to you in this passage?
- Again, we see completeness…what does it men to you to be continually in prayer?
- Working backwards, paraphrase God’s word from this passage.
- It is God’s will…though it’s hard to imagine giving thanks in all circumstances, he works all things together for our good (Romans 8:28). Is there a difficult situation you need to thank God for? Lift it up to Him now.
- We are told His joy is our strength (Nehemiah 8:10), which is very different than worldly happiness, but much more fulfilling. Ask the Lord to fill you with His joy so you may remain strong in HIM!
Always! Continually! All circumstances! It is God’s will!!!! I will be praying for you!

Philippians 4:6-7
- Here Paul tells us what we should be anxious about. Write it down.
- Here he also explains what we should be anxious about. Write it down.
- Do you see a completeness in those words?
- when we offer up our fears to God what results?
- We do not understand His peace, but we can be certain that it will guard what?
- So, here I ask you…what do you choose…Your own fear and anxiety or God’s peace.?
